Important Parameters to consider while finalizing a Destination Wedding

Most of our guests have been good traveler’s and are clear on the kind of hotel / venue they are looking forward for their wedding. However, in our experience, the way a traveler experiences a venue and how a good wedding planner looks towards a venue are very different. A good wedding planner would look for a little more in detail and for a few more parameters to make the wedding something to remember for. It’s all about creating a unique memory. As a wedding planner, we always look forward for the following parameters

  1. Ease of Travel – Remember you are not travelling alone. There are another 100 – 1000 guests of yours who are supposed to travel. Not everyone would be comfortable travelling the way you travel. Hence choosing a destination which has easy approach and connectivity is one of the most critical parameters to consider.
  2. Size of hotel – If your requirement occupies 70-80% (in the initial calculation), it’s a perfect size. There would be another 5-10% occupancy which would be taken by support team and this would make a case of compete buy out. This would give the guests a complete access and flexibility.
  3. Hospitality / Front Desk – Although most of the hotel staff is very professional & trained hospitality team, however, most of the wedding planners prefer their own hospitality desk. This is because most of the hotel teams are trained to welcome and attend one guest at a time, however in a destination wedding, we get a group. If the front office is well trained, it adds up to the added advantage
  4. Flexibility – This becomes one of the important evaluations, especially when it’s a buyout. If the hotel management is flexible and allows and welcomes you to do creative stuff, a good designer / decorator can create multiple unique areas which adds up to happy memories and photo opportunities. This out of box opportunists brings uniqueness in each wedding at the same venue.
  5. Food Quality – There is a saying in our industry – “50% of the wedding is a hit if food quality is as per your taste buds”. Yes, you can’t satisfy 100% of the guests, but if more than 70% guests like the food, the wedding would be remembered and be talked about for a very very long time. Food is the first and most spoken about in a wedding
  6. Budget – It is always believed that venue takes maximum budget. However, a good wedding planner ensures a perfect balance of the budget and ensures that you don’t over spend on the venue. This will help in doing justice with other elements of the wedding.
  7. Advanced Facilities by Hotel – While normal guests don’t but we look to the minuets of other couple of facilities such as valet parking & shuttle service, licensing, availability of sound system etc.
  8. Picture Perfect – In the end, you only take back happy memories. Nothing better than a picture-perfect venue and great photo opportunities. These are the memories that would remain with you for ever after.

Conclusion:

In future if you ever go to book any venue for wedding, make sure to finalize your wedding planner first. Before seeing venue from your perspective, it is important to look at that venue with planners’ vision. As at last we only drive towards yours and guests ease and comfort making your wedding more memorable and cherished for ever after.
